Out in The Barn, we used to keep all our empties and stack them up in big pyramids, till my dad kiboshed it. (Got that trait from my Mom, who always put together these great photo albums, with captions and everything. Once I got a scanner, a number of years back, I’ve been knocking off lots of pix into jpg files.

A couple months ago, I borrowed an album from my parents, that covered our very young years around when I was in kindergarten (and my sibs were between 1 and 3) That was a real treasure trove of classic 60’s shots. My hand was swollen for a week, and like I said, I had to stuff padding in there for the rest of the season. With plays like that, there’s no time to place your hand so the ball hits the webbing, you just flail it out there and hope it sticks.

That must have really sucked catching one bare-handed like that…

“Sorry, Dad, I’m heading to right field for the rest of the game…”bluzdudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05991272670722362652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329507352453931374.post-49570007008848750922010-04-30T14:48:46.509-04:002010-04-30T14:48:46.509-04:00I love that your dad called you "Bluz" a...I love that your dad called you "Bluz" at that tender young age.
