I'd gladly pay a bump like that to see more of a living wage paid to people who work there.

(Granted, that "living wage" is still insufficient, I read that if the min wage had been tied to inflation all along, it would be around $24/hour. But $15 is still a far sight better than $7.50.)bluzdudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05991272670722362652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329507352453931374.post-67201991321419662012021-02-02T10:05:28.030-05:002021-02-02T10:05:28.030-05:00As a small business owner I never bought into the ...As a small business owner I never bought into the minimum wage increases would hurt me. My first business we paid our delivery people $3 more than minimum wage. We had increases and benefits. We never lost employees. i was told by one that I took such good care of him he would do anything for me. When we sold the business he cried. He also stayed to help but they lowered his pay so he left. How do companies think their employs can live on 7.25? Certainly not in the DMV and quite frankly not in NC or PA either. Have they actually gone to the grocery store to see that $100 buys you nothing?! okay enough of my rant on your blog. Here's to 6 more weeks of winter!Margaret (Peggy or Peg too)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04247428494327269983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329507352453931374.post-52017265694800017052021-02-02T09:15:14.747-05:002021-02-02T09:15:14.747-05:00As a transplanted mid-westerner and upstate New Yo...As a transplanted mid-westerner and upstate New Yorker, Baltimore's winters are a comparative breeze. Every so often we get some snow and everyone loses their mind, like they forgot how to deal with snow since the year (or month) before.bluzdudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05991272670722362652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329507352453931374.post-73081704593386737722021-02-02T08:31:57.068-05:002021-02-02T08:31:57.068-05:00I have to be honest and say that I never paid atte...I have to be honest and say that I never paid attention to EO's until the past 5-6 years or so, but I'm super, super impressed by that chart! The numbers are right there for everyone to see and I truly had no clue about all that info. Fascinating! I totally agree, and kudos to the 10 peeps who decided to meet up with President Biden with something in hand for a possible compromise. Like you, my son and his fiance would miss out on the additional funds, but they'll be fine. And hopefully there will be some extension of the unemployment which would help out lots and lots of people. The UE here in NC continues to be $7.25 and it's the same in KY where my son lives vs $15 per hour in Washington DC where my brother lives. I'd love for the $15 to get through, but who knows. I'm just hoping that everyone can get along.(lol) And even though I'm not running for Ms. Universe or anything, I wish for peace around the world. Where are Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie when we need them?(lol) Sending hugs to you and Sweet Pea. By the way PP saw his shadow, so 6 more weeks of Winter. However in NC, people consider 41 degrees cold and 1 inch of snow is a natural disaster.(lol) I've told people they should try living for a day or 2 in ND during a snow/ice storm. I can say that I met some of the kindest people on earth while I lived there, but that was before blogging, of course(lol)ROhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07417463444013920901noreply@blogger.com
